Romantic flapper dresses from the early 20th century are perennial favorites and this one is a show-stopper! The garment's simple unstructured style is so modern; the fine beadwork is a treasure trove of needle art. This beauty, fashioned from periwinkle silk-chiffon, is lavishly embellished with the most gorgeous art deco motif. The delicate intricate floral pattern with hints of prong-set rhinestones is so ethereal while the cascading silver glass beads almost resemble waterfalls! The intricate pattern is all hand done and must have taken weeks to complete. I love the sleeveless bodice with unique back fringed cut-out design. The exacting perfection of all this embellishment is beyond compare. Even the zig-zag scalloped hemline compliments the deco design! We needed to add many detail pictures of this French beauty so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. What a breathtaking dress for a woman, who uses her clothing as the material from which to create a work of art.
